July 4th!

The 4th of July is by far my favorite holiday. Growing up all of our aunts uncles and cousins would sleep in my grandparents backyard. After my grandparents passed away my parents have carried on the tradition for our own family. We all look forward to it every year.
On the 3rd of July, their city does their city Parade! My mom always buys all the kids 4th of July outfits for the night of the parade.

Waiting for the Parade to start!

I love this picture of my loves.

Headed home for dinner.

My parents always make sure their is an abundance of drinks.

The boys enjoying the summer night before dinner.

I must say that was the best dinner we have ever had on a 4th. We had sweet pork tacos and yummy fixins to go along with it.
We put Lila to bed at her normal time in my parents crib and then moved her outside with us when it was time! She is an incredibly light sleeper so that was an Independence Day miracle she stayed asleep. Especially through all the little kids giggles in their sleeping bags.

The crew the next morning.
I always think its sweet of all the people there Ecko always lays right next to me :)
The kids always go to sleep petting her and her laying next to one of them and always find her way back to her mamma!

Lila did great! Didn't make a peep.

The kiddos lounging waiting for Grandpas Swedish Thins!

Its never easy getting out of a hammock.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying the sun, playing water volleyball, balloon toss and the kiddos cooling down in their little kid pool.

I gave my Dad that awesome flamingo for his retro camping trailer. I thought it was perfect touch for our 4th sleep over :)

I made homemade waffle cones and homemade ice cream!

We went to the park to play around a bit before firework time!

We had an after party this year which we have never done.
The next morning we woke up, had another breakfast together and went up for a nice family hike around the lake.

Russ and my Dad are both big time hikers. They love it.
They actually started on one side of the mountain and hiked for like 5 hours to meet us on the other side. We were halfway around the lake when they came down the mountain so it was perfect!

Lila likes hiking about as much as me.

Russ was kind enough on his hike to pick us a few strawberries.
I thought it was the funniest thing Ive ever seen. TINY.
Another fantastic party Mom & Dad.
Thank you!

My little Model

Lila had the opportunity to model for a boutique (I think) out of Las Vegas.
I was so worried she was going to be grumpy! It was just before her bed time, she SCREAMED the entire way there, which is so unlike her, but she must be a true professional.
As soon as we got there and in the outfit they picked out for her she turned on that happy switch and was good to go!
